Educational Session on Restorative Justice


This session was a presentation on Restorative Justice, an approach that focuses on repairing the harm in the aftermath of crime and is based on the understanding that crime is a violation of people and relationships. This Seminar lasted eight hours.


The objective of the session was to provide an in-depth look into restorative Justice principles and introduce ways in which it can be applied to judicial work and relationships, to build healthier and safer communities.


This educational session included topic on Restorative Justice and why it is important, the practice of Restorative Justice throughout the criminal justice system, the linkages between Restorative Justice and Indigenous cultural practices and traditions in Atlantic Canada and understanding the role of relationships connections and collaboration in building a Restorative Justice framework for PEI
