LUNCH and LEARN – Browne v. Dunn

Overview

This Lunch and Learn was a presentation developed by a senior judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. It was a half hour session that was intended for all judges of the court, masters and registrars.

Objectives

The objective of this session was to refresh prior learning and examine complex evidentiary issues.

Summary

The session surrounded the development of the rule in Browne v. Dunn and the recent decision of the BC Court of Appeal in respect to the impeachment of a witness by subsequent evidence – the confrontation principle.
